The global headquarters of Goldman Sachs occupies 200 West Street. The new skyscraper is located in Battery Park City, adjacent to the World Trade Center site. Completed by architects Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, the building achieved LEED Gold status for its environmentally friendly design.

The base of the structure contains six trading floors with a column-free span, which was possible through the use of trusses and the location of the elevator bank at one end of the building. Above the base, a slender tower rises and appears rectangular from all sides except the west side, which curves out towards the Hudson River. The interior of the building is most neutral, and the lobby features limestone walls with abstract murals, creating a modern aesthetic. The Sky Lobby, a double-height space with skylights and river views, is located on the 11th floor. Other amenities include a distinctly designed auditorium, cafeteria, reading room and fitness center. The desks within the offices were designed by architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.
