Located in Lower Manhattan, the American International Building was once the third tallest building in the world. It is clad in limestone and capped with a gothic spire, and contains an observatory with a glass enclosure on the 66th floor that was once open to the public. Originally, double-decker elevators were installed in the building, but were unpopular and have since been replaced. The building was previously known as the Cities Service Building until it was purchased by AIG. However, following the financial crisis and recession of 2008, the company was forced to sell the building and it is now owned by Youngwoo & Associates.

Current tenants of the American International Building range from insurance companies, dentists and doctors to attorneys. Amenities include on-site management and USPS drop-off. The building is convenient to South Street Seaport, several ferry lines and the J, Z, 2 and 3 trains.
