The General Electric Building is an option for office space, NYC | Metro Manhattan Office Space

The General Electric building, originally called the RCA Victor Building, should not be confused with the GE building that is part of Rockefeller Center. It is designed in the Art Deco style, clad in orange and tan brick. Its appearance was carefully planned to compliment its neighbor, the St. Bartholomew Church. 

The 50-story tower portion of the General Electric Building rises from a large base, which is adorned with many sculptures. The most notable portion of the design, however, is the tower's crown, which features Gothic elements such as tracery, terra cotta tile and weathered copper points. The ornamentation was intended to call to mind radio waves.

The sizes of floors in this building range from approximately 17,000 square feet in the base, to 3,000 square feet in its tower—small by today's standards, so the building is not a good fit for large corporations. However, small tenants will appreciate that the Landmarked building has been renovated, including its impressive Art Deco lobby. Tenants can also control the air conditioning from each floor. The General Electric building is conveniently located near Grand Central Terminal.
