The McGraw Hill Building is located at 1221 Avenue of the Americas, and was built as part of an extension to the Rockefeller Center in the 1970s. It is also the third building to house the company's headquarters and feature its name. The structure is a large rectangular slab with a glass curtain wall. It offers 2.5 million square feet of office space, and recently became one of the largest LEED certified existing building in New York City. It features a sunken exterior plaza that contains several pieces of art.

Aside from housing the headquarters of publisher McGraw Hill, other tenants of the building include Morgan Stanley, Sonnenshein, Nath & Rosenthal, and JP Morgan Partners. The building also serves as the headquarters for Sirius XM Radio, and The Howard Stern Show is broadcast from within. Amenities include on-site management, a renovated lobby, auditoriums and conference rooms, direct access to a shopping concourse, and direct access to the subway, including B, D, F and M lines.
