The News Building, which is also known as the Daily News Building, served as the headquarters for the New York Daily News as well as the fictional Daily Plant, the employer of Clark Kent, aka Superman. The Art Deco tower, designed by architect Raymond Hood, is notable in that it does not feature an ornamented crown, typical of many skyscrapers of the era. Although it was referred to as the “ugliest building in the city” by Ayn Rand in The Fountainhead, the building has been landmarked and features an elegant lobby.

Current tenants of the News Building include Martin Clearwater & Bell, Omnicom Group, the United Nations Population Fund and WPIX TV. Amenities of the building range from on-site management, extended hours for air conditioning to a state of the art security systems. The building is located near Grand Central Station and its multiple transportation options by train, the Metro North line, Amtrak and the 4, 5, 6 and 7 subways.
