Although the name "Trump" is often synonymous with 1980s architecture that is gold-plated, the Trump Building, located in downtown Manhattan, embodies the classic style of another era. It is a French Renaissance style building clad in limestone and was originally known as the Bank of Manhattan Trust Building. The design is most notable for its green-patinated copper roof that culminates in a Gothic spire. Donald Trump purchased the building in the mid 1990s after it had fallen into disrepair and he invested millions of dollars in renovating the building to its former glory. It now features marble lobbies, and has become known as the "Crown Jewel of Wall Street."

Building services include security and on-site management. Current tenants are CNA Insurance, Countrywide Insurance and Heidrick & Struggles. The Trump Building is located near the New York Stock Exchange and is convenient to the J, Z, 2 and 3 trains.
